The Purpose of the Societa Aurelia was to bring together in Rome and various parts of the United States, a congenial company of cultivated and knowledgeable amateurs in the arts and humanities who through their interest in the Academy at work, may delight in experiencing the special artistic and scholarly riches of life in Rome... and who, through their understanding of the aims and aspirations of the Academy, will advancing its welfare the direction of their special tastes.
